How Does Image to PDF Conversion Work?

JPG to PDF conversion takes your images and embeds each one as a full page in a PDF document. The page dimensions match the image dimensions exactly, so a 1920x1080 photo becomes a 1920x1080 point page with no cropping, no borders, and no distortion. Both JPEG and PNG formats are supported, and you can mix them in the same batch.

The tool uses pdf-lib to create a new PDF document in your browser’s memory. Each image is embedded at its original quality without re-compression. A JPEG stays JPEG inside the PDF, and a PNG stays PNG. This preserves every detail from your source files. You can upload multiple images at once, reorder them by dragging, and produce a properly ordered multi-page PDF in about 2 seconds.

Situations where image-to-PDF conversion is the fastest path:

  • Photographing paper documents with your phone and creating a scannable PDF
  • Building a photo portfolio or lookbook as a single shareable file
  • Combining receipt photos into one PDF for expense reports
  • Converting ID photos, diplomas, or certificates to the PDF format that forms require
  • Assembling product images into a catalog or specification sheet

Most cloud converters cap free batch size at 5-10 images and require signup for larger jobs. Some also re-compress your images during conversion, reducing quality without telling you. Our tool has no image count limit, no signup, and embeds images at their original resolution. Since everything runs locally, your photos never leave your device.

After creating the PDF, you can compress it if the file size is too large for email. For scanned document images, adding page numbers makes the final PDF easier to reference. If pages ended up in the wrong orientation, Rotate PDF fixes that in one click.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which image formats are supported?
We support JPG (JPEG) and PNG image formats. Both are widely used and cover most use cases - from photos to screenshots to scanned documents.
Can I add multiple images to one PDF?
Yes! Upload as many images as you need. They’ll be combined into a single PDF with one image per page. You can drag to reorder them before converting.
What will the page size be?
Each page exactly matches the dimensions of its source image. A 1920x1080 photo creates a page of that exact size, ensuring no cropping or distortion occurs.
Will image quality be reduced?
No. Images are embedded in the PDF at their original quality. JPEG images remain JPEG, PNG images remain PNG - no re-compression happens during conversion.
Can I reorder images before creating the PDF?
Yes! After uploading, you can drag and drop images to arrange them in any order. The PDF will follow your arrangement exactly.
